Free Living

Location: Surrey.
Type: Nest is in the lowest horizontal branch of an old oak tree that has recently had the dead unsafe branches removed. Tree is still active.
Site Habitat: In a large garden of an old farmhouse surrounded by fields of crops and sheep.
4m from ground, facing South, with 1 2cm opening (knot hole). Branch diameter is approx 1m
History: Bees have only just been noticed, although the owner has lived at this address for a few years.
Update: 12th May 2020 bees still active.
