I made this log hive 4 years ago . Matt Somerville taught me . I put it up in early
Spring 2017 and got a swarm in June . I placed some comb inside and a couple of drops of lemon grass oil on the entrance and it worked . Sadly the bees died a month later from pesticides poisoning used on the local farm.
I have waited 3 years since and was surprised 10 days ago when the bees moved in. Due to the height of of the log hive it was hard to place fresh comb but I did add lemon grass . The bees look busy and hope they will settle.
