Free Living

Location: Back garden furthest from house, Dorking, Surrey.
Type: 3 box warre hive made of pine.
Site Habitat: Centre of small market town.
40cm from ground, facing South, with 2 x 2cm openings under bottom box.
Swarm moved into hive in June 2019.
History: Previous colony died out in Feb 2019 and had lived in the same 3 boxes for 7 years after being found as a swarm in Dorking on 17-Jun-2012. Hive was inspected afterwards and waxmoth and mice had cleared all the boxes of all wax comb. No other cleaning done.
