Our bees arrived out of the blue one summer evening about 18 months ago. We heard them before we saw them. As the humming grew louder and louder we looked out of the kitchen window to see a huge swarm of bees in the sky. Once we realised they were heading towards us we ran around closing all the windows and watched as they made their home in the south-west corner of the house. At first we worried they wouldn’t get on with the house martins and bats already living in the eaves, but luckily they all seem to get along. We feel very lucky that the bees chose to live with us.
